Man's bones broken in 'violent' Derby robbery
A man suffered broken ribs and facial fractures after being chased and attacked by three men in a "violent" robbery. The victim was chased down Cromwell Road on to Lower Dale Road in Normanton, Derby, at about 19:50 BST on September 15. He was pushed over before being kicked and stamped on while on the ground.

Heritage experts slammed plans for a huge 17-storey complex apartment in the heart of the city centre claiming that the proposed scheme is "not good enough for Derby". In a letter objecting to The Landmark scheme, Historic England adds that the proposed structure is "woefully short of the design quality required for a landmark building".

A man and woman from Sheffield have appeared in court charged with the murder of a Nottinghamshire grandmother at the Lincolnshire coast. Caroline Fisher, 53, from Eastwood , had been holidaying with her family at Buzz Bar in Sea Lane, Ingoldmells, on the evening of Friday, July 20, earlier this year.

Council rejects school's plan to expand sixth form centre
The school, in Wirksworth Road, Duffield , had hoped to build the extension to free up more study, teaching, and caf space - along with five extra parking spaces. It stated that existing space was "inadequate and overcrowded" due to rising pupil numbers which are set to increase from 1,420 to 1,625.

Passionate gardeners Brian and Sally Williams had planted the colourful display on the narrow lane in the village where they live in Sheffield, which they claimed was 'neglected' by the council when they first moved into the property in 1991.

Toddler 'forced to poo in car park' after library refuses access to toilet
However, the adult education centre and cafe were closed and only a disabled loo was in use but had a sign on it saying 'staff toilet'. He claims that the librarian told him she would get in trouble if people used it and that she couldn't find the key.
